# Lab Dynamo integrations

Lab Dynamo connects laboratory instruments, EHRs, practice management systems, reference labs, billing partners, and health systems to the laboratory so orders arrive electronically and results are delivered without manual re-entry.

## Supported standards

- HL7 (orders, results, demographics, billing)
- ASTM / CLSI LIS2-A2 instrument messaging
- RS-232 serial and TCP/IP instrument connections
- Flat files and CSV via secure file transfer or upload
- Code mapping including LOINC, CPT, and ICD-10

## SparkRelay

SparkRelay is Lab Dynamo's custom-built, cloud-based middleware. It sits between laboratory instruments and the LIS, translating and routing orders and results, and works with SparkLIS, PathArray, or nearly any third-party LIS. SparkRelay handles instrument-to-LIS order and result traffic only; connections to EHRs, reference labs, billing, and other outside systems are made through the LIS's own interfaces.

Deployment options:

- Lab Dynamo cloud: SparkRelay is hosted by Lab Dynamo, and relay agent software at the lab securely relays instrument traffic to the cloud.
- Your own environment: SparkRelay runs in the customer's infrastructure via Docker, with local relay agents connecting instruments.
