Eliminate Double Entry
Orders come in electronically and results go out automatically. Fewer keystrokes means fewer transcription errors and more time for your staff to focus on testing.
Connect your instruments, ordering providers, EHRs, reference labs, and billing partners to your laboratory — so orders arrive automatically, results flow out without retyping, and your staff stops working between systems.

Bring new and older analyzers online — including instruments that only offer a serial port — without replacing equipment that still does the job.
Deliver results straight into the EHRs and practice systems your clients already use. Easy electronic ordering and results are often what decides where a practice sends its samples.
We scope, build, test, and support each interface in-house, coordinate with your instrument vendors and trading partners, and monitor connections after go-live.
Whatever format a partner or instrument speaks, we can typically connect to it. Here is what that means in practice.
The most common language for exchanging lab orders, results, patient demographics, and billing with EHRs, hospitals, and practice management systems.
The long-standing standard used by many chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, and toxicology analyzers to receive worklists and send back results.
Direct cable connections to instruments, including legacy analyzers that predate modern networking.
Network connections to modern instruments and systems over your lab’s local network.
Spreadsheet-style and text file exchange for plate readers, PCR systems, reference labs, and partners that do not support HL7 — delivered by secure file transfer or upload.
Your test names and codes are translated to what each partner expects, including standard codes such as LOINC, CPT, and ICD-10, so results land in the right place.
These interfaces exchange orders, results, and billing data between your LIS and the outside systems your lab works with. We build them from the integration engine in SparkLIS and PathArray, and we also build EMR and billing interfaces for laboratories running other LIS platforms.
Receive electronic orders from client EHRs and return finished reports directly into the patient chart.
Exchange orders, patient demographics, and results with the practice systems your clients use day to day.
Pass orders to reference laboratories and bring their results back into your own reports.
Deliver accurate charge and demographic data to your billing company or RCM system.
Exchange patient registration, orders, and results with hospital systems and HIEs.
One-off file formats, data exports, and partner-specific requirements built to spec.
SparkRelay is our own custom-built, cloud-based middleware platform. It sits between your instruments and your laboratory information system, handling the translation and traffic between them — and it works with just about any LIS, not only ours. SparkRelay is dedicated to the instrument side: orders going out to analyzers and results coming back into the LIS. Run it in our cloud or in your own environment.
We host and manage SparkRelay for you. A lightweight relay agent installed at your lab securely carries instrument traffic between your bench and the cloud — no middleware server for your team to buy, patch, or back up.
Run SparkRelay inside your own infrastructure as a Docker container, with local relay agents connecting your instruments. Ideal for organizations that need data to stay on their network or prefer to manage hosting themselves.
Keep the LIS you have. SparkRelay connects instruments to SparkLIS, PathArray, or nearly any third-party laboratory system.
Manage all instrument connections in one place instead of maintaining separate drivers and interface PCs for each analyzer.
Bringing on a new analyzer or test becomes a configuration change rather than a new interface project with your LIS vendor.
Small agent software at each site connects to nearby instruments — including serial-only analyzers — and relays traffic securely to SparkRelay.
See connection status and message history at a glance, so problems are spotted and resolved before they delay results.
Add instruments, testing lines, or new sites without re-architecting how your lab is connected.
Most laboratory instruments, EHRs, practice management systems, reference labs, billing companies, and health systems. Instruments connect to the LIS directly or through SparkRelay, while outside systems connect through the LIS’s own interfaces. We support HL7, ASTM, RS-232 serial, TCP/IP, and flat-file exchange, so most partners can be connected in a format they already support.
Yes. Many legacy analyzers only offer a serial (RS-232) connection. We regularly bring those instruments online so labs do not have to replace working equipment just to connect it.
SparkRelay is Lab Dynamo’s custom cloud-based middleware. It sits between your instruments and your LIS, translating and routing orders and results so each instrument does not need its own direct interface to the LIS.
Your choice. Lab Dynamo can host SparkRelay in the cloud, with relay agent software at your lab securely connecting instruments to it. Or you can run SparkRelay in your own environment using Docker, with local relay agents connecting your instruments.
Through SparkRelay relay agent software installed locally. The agent connects to instruments over serial or network connections and securely relays orders and results to SparkRelay, whether it is hosted by Lab Dynamo or in your own environment.
No. SparkRelay handles traffic between instruments and the LIS only. Connections to EHRs, reference labs, billing, and other outside systems are handled by the LIS’s own interfaces, such as the integration engine built into SparkLIS and PathArray. Lab Dynamo also builds EMR and billing interfaces for labs on other LIS platforms.
No. SparkRelay is designed to work with just about any LIS. It pairs naturally with SparkLIS and PathArray but is equally useful for labs that want to keep their current system.
It depends on the partner, the format, and how quickly each side can test. We provide a timeline after reviewing your requirements and coordinate directly with vendors and trading partners to keep things moving.
Our team builds and tests each interface and supports your laboratory through validation before go-live. Your laboratory retains final sign-off on its validated workflows.
Tell us which instruments, EHRs, and partners you need to connect. We’ll map out the interfaces and a realistic plan to get them live.
